Jason was raised in a growing business environment at Precision Response Corporation, founded by his father, Mark Gordon. Having worked in various departments within the company including Marketing, Operations, Customer Service, Finance, and the Executive Division, Jason gained firsthand experience in every facet of the company. His entrepreneurial spirit is born from this broad exposure and rapidly developing environment.
Personally, Jason’s journey with two cancer diagnoses over a nine year period uniquely inspired his inclusive orientation toward life. As Jason describes it, an inclusive perspective simply means including all possibilities, particularly in discovering your personalized and dynamic direction in life. Then, given you own bias and predispositions, creating the network of support that helps you thrive as an individual and as a member of society. Courtyard publishing’s mission is to facilitate these networks for artists as well as being an intricate part of them.
Courtyard Publishing was founded through Jason’s marriage of the business world and the healing world. He understands that creative expression is a direct reflection of who we are and an absolute necessity for creating and maintaining health and happiness. Courtyard Publishing was established to support unfolding authenticity as a life sustaining process. |

Adam Horowitz CFO & COO of Courtyard Publishing |
 |
Adam Horowitz, the company’s Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer, worked in his family’s import/export business from an early age before graduating from Nova Southeastern University with a degree in business administration and finance. While still at university he commenced his career by working as a Budget Analyst for the Miami Museum of Science, where he continued employment following graduation. Subsequently he became the Financial Analyst for the Miami New Times, a national alternative newspaper with circulation throughout numerous U.S. major marketplaces. During his time there, he was selected to attend a one-year business management training program focusing on the leadership of new and expanding ventures.
Adam’s experience led to his being recruited as Controller for the South Florida Art Center, where he was responsible for overseeing all of the organization’s financial and operational strategies. This was a turnaround situation where his skills were fully tested as he restored the financial integrity of the institution, raising efficiencies, and creating systems and procedures that restored the organization to a path of financial viability and growth.
His success at the Arts Center resulted in his being appointed as the Chief Financial Officer for the new Miami Children’s Museum, where he became a member of the senior management team which was responsible for building the $25 million, 60,000 square foot attraction located on prestigious Watson Island. Under his watchful eye, the project was completed both on-time and on-budget, a rare feat for an assignment of this scope and type. Upon its opening, Adam shifted his attention to the operational side of the Museum, overseeing finance, operations, human resources and information systems and ensuring that the organization was “in the black” for the more than two year period of his continued tenure.
In November of 2005, with the challenge of establishing another new organization, Jason Gordon enticed Adam to join Courtyard Publishing as the corporation’s Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer. He is responsible for all day-to-day operations and finances, using his experience and skills to translate the strategic vision of the venture into practical realities. |
