I have spent the better part of the morning just walking around downtown Chicago. This is a very loud city. It looks like New York but with significantly less people but somehow an amazing amount of noise. Buses and elevated trains, ambulances and the occasional impatient taxi all seem to create this din that is almost inescapable.

This was one of the cities that I was really looking forward to visiting. We have all heard of Milwaukee but how many of us have actually been there?

I drove from Chicago to Milwaukee, only a two or three hour drive hugging Lake Michigan the entire time. I arrived at the hotel and found myself standing in line with a shockingly large number of kids in tuxedos and pink chiffon. Prom night.

I ordered room service and called it a night.

Lancaster is a small city in south east Pennsylvania. It also happens to be the home of my friend Don Helsel, whose son was killed several years ago in a terrible traffic accident. Every year Don holds a golf tournament to raise funds for his granddaughter's college fund. (By the way, I don’t play golf)

Since I was going to go to the golf tournament anyway, I decided to make Lancaster and Philadelphia two of my Vagabond trips.
